Why Choose Us
We are a locally owned garden and landscaping company based in Salmon Arm, proudly serving the Shuswap for over 25 years.
We care for everything from established residential / commercial gardens and seasonal maintenance to landscape improvements, forest health, wildfire mitigation, and fir beetle protection. For us, it’s about more than keeping a garden looking good. It’s about knowing the property, understanding what it needs, and building a relationship with the people so they too can enjoy their space.
Many of the gardens we care for today have been with Good Nature for years, some for decades. We’re fortunate to have clients who have trusted us with their properties for the long haul, and we don’t take that trust lightly. We believe good relationships are built over time by paying attention, communicating with our clients, knowing their property, and caring about the little things before they become big things.
We’re not interested in rushing through a property just to get to the next one. We take the time to understand what a garden needs, what a client wants, and what makes sense for the landscape long-term.

Ivy’s Legacy
Good Nature began with Ivy Matheson over 25 years ago. Originally under the name Mums in the Garden, Ivy built the company and became a familiar and trusted part of the Shuswap gardening community. She was known for her love and knowledge of plants, her high standards, and the care and creativity she brought to every garden she worked on. But it was Ivy herself that people remember most. She was warm, genuine, hardworking, and, as we’ve heard from so many people in the community, simply salt of the earth. She had a way of making people feel welcome, and a genuine happiness that stayed with you.
Ivy had a particular love for Japanese maples, and you can still see her style woven throughout many of the gardens she created. Ivy has since passed away, and these gardens have become part of her legacy. Today, her husband Corey operates Good Nature, and carrying that legacy forward is a big part of what we do.
Many of the gardens we care for today are ones Ivy designed and nurtured over the years. We know we’re not just looking after plants. We’re looking after years of work, relationships, memories, and trust. We feel very fortunate to continue caring for these gardens and to be part of their story.
